Mike we need to figure out how to program them - out of the box just like that don't work - I have the programming cable and CD required, but unfortunately my new lap top doesn't have a Disk drive at all.

I won't be @ Tomorrow's game, but those of us that are going to be running Baofeng radios we should become experts at programming them and then place easy to follow instructions on here for new users

I have bought a pair of these and computers are sort of my main hobby other than airsoft. Programming them is no biggy for me. I'll try to make a tutorial if you guys want. I'll get to work on it as soon as I receive them. I currently use talk abouts with a code red bone conduction headset.

Just got them in today. Have 2 brand new Baofeng UV-5R's. Just waiting on the usb and chirp software then I'll be good to go to make the tutorial. there are a few good ones on youtube already but they enable for repeater towers ect. which we will never use unless we get a Ham operators / technician permit. I might study to get mine just for shits and giggles... just to see how much of a pain the process is.
